Gluten Free Classic French Toast Recipe

How to make French Toast Recipe:

This Gluten-Free Classic French Toast recipe is delicious, simple, made with eggs, milk, and bread. The best French toast is crisp and browned on the outside, creamy on the inside. I got the recipe from a French Chef himself, who gave a few tips on how to make the perfect French toast the French way. We have made something similar in our kitchens, but this is different, you have to stick to the little tips to make it the right way.

Tip No 1: Make sure the bread slices are not too thin or too fat. The perfect width is 1 cm approx. Too thin will burn the crust, too fat will not cook the toast from the inside properly. So to make the French toast, get the loaf and cut the slices at home.

Tip No 2: Use whole milk, not fat-free. A bit of fat is okay.

Tip 3: Just before you are taking out the toast from the pan, make sure you sprinkle some sugar. That gives the toast a nice brown shine and crispness. Use some brown sugar if you have else you can sprinkle the white too.

Cooking Time: Under 10 minutes.

Serves: 2 people

Ingredients For French Toast Recipe:

  • Eggs: 2 Nos.
  • Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Cinnamon Powder: 1 tsp
  • Salt: A pinch
  • Sugar: 3/4 cup (Use fine sugar)
  • Vanilla (optional): a few drops
  • Gluten Free bread slices: 4-5 ( cut 1 cm thick)
  • Butter: 1/2 tbsp

Method:

  1. Mix everything well.
  2. Dip and soak the bread slices for a few seconds.
  3. Heat a pan. Put some butter.
  4. Add the slices to the pan. Keep the heat medium-low.
  5. Cook each side for 40-45 seconds. Flip.
  6. Just before taking out the slices from the pan, sprinkle some brown sugar on the slices and let them cook on medium. This will give the bread slices a nice brown texture.
  7. The toasts are done. Bon Appetit!
